Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis are conditions that cause chronic or long-lasting inflammation of the digestive or gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD) is never easy to manage and can vary symptoms with time. It can progresses over time especially during the first 10 years after diagnosis. This progress often involves a change from only inflammation to more structural changes in the intestines or bowel. Two distinctive differences between Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis are the depth and location of the damage to the intestinal tract.

Because symptoms can vary dramatically, it is difficult at times to tell whether someone has Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis. When this happens, those who are affected are diagnosed to have indeterminate colitis.

When looking for a pharmacy to assist in supporting the IBD patient, it is important you choose one that understands the disease and the subtle changes the patient may encounter. At Vasco Rx we trained and dedicated in managing this complicated disease.
